Boggle

How about an online game of Boggle? How many 3-letter-or-more words can you get from this board? Basic rules: You can not use the same letter tile more than once in the same word. You can go diagonal and in weird patterns. The next letter in your word just has to be touching the previous letter on a side or at a corner. ... I just did a horrible job of explaining the rules, but I guess I'm assuming most of you already know how to play.

I K A H
X T E N
T L T N
A L A O

Don't list your words yet so that nobody can cheat - but give us a count. Technically you're supposed to play Boggle in one-minute rounds or something, but this way will be fun, too.

I only want to play this game if we're generating possible baby names. For example, how bout Amos?

Hold your horses, Ang. In a week and a half we'll know if it's a boy or a girl - then let the name game begin! ... And while I do kinda like Amos, I'm pretty sure there's no "m" in that Boggle board!

Perfect insomnia activity: 38.
Truth be told, four are quibble-able (is that a word?):
--ala (ala mode)
--atta (atta girl)
--het (don't get all het up)
--alt (alt delete)
Judges, what say ye?

Nancy - In our house we use dictionary.com minus any listed under "slang".
So "ala" counts since its some wing or womthing.
"atta" does not count
"het" counts since it says its a dialtectal variant
"alt" is another word for high so I'll give you that.

Nice work. I'm at 20 so, so far you're the winner.
