Of illness that is. Now we've all got Strep throat. Asher showed signs of it first. He was up all night with a fever of 103 or thereabout. I finally took him to the Dr. after his fever stayed that high for about 24 hours. Yep, Strep. Then the next day I took Isaiah and Naomi in to get checked - since what are the odds that one will get it without passing it on to the others. Naomi had it too. But the Dr. put all 3 kids on antibiotics just to be sure. Then last night I started feeling it. Luckily, my OBGYN knows and trusts me and all it took was a phone call to him this morning and he phoned in a prescription for me. So this afternoon I will be making my third trip to the pharmacy in three days to pick up the exact same prescription, with just a new name on it.
Meanwhile, Richard is speaking at another conference all this weekend and hasn't really been around since yesterday afternoon (not to really be seen again until Saturday night). Usually when Richard is gone all day like that I do some major playdates or shopping or something. But since we're all one big germ-ball, no playdates for us this weekend. At least I know I get a break on Saturday afternoon. My MIL is coming to stay with the kids for a couple of hours while I go to a mission-companions wedding shower.
This is seeming a little whiney. I didn't mean it that way. I'm really OK. I'm just updating.
Tonight we're venturing out, germ-ball's or not, to Naomi's school. They are doing an "Art Show" of work the kids have been doing all year. (The kids will have been on antibiotics for at least 24 hours by then so it should be OK.) Naomi is super excited about it, and I can't wait to gush over her. Kids need a good gushing every now and again, ya know?
